“Their music is often driven and upbeat yet is tempered with a forlorn melancholy. There’s the nonchalant swagger of The National, the driving Peter Hook-style bass and at times the euphoric hosannas of Arcade Fire, yet they retain a defiantly unique sound.”

The first of the annual Brawl gigs have been announced. The charity event always has a great line-up and now consists of both a Belfast based night, as well as the soon to be announced Portrush based gig. LaFaro, Axis Of, Team Fresh, Gascan Rukus and Empty Lungs play the Queen’s Student Union on the 21st Dec.
“This year the Belfast Brawl will take the form of a Benefit gig to help raise some much needed funds for our friends La Faro, Axis Of & Gascan Rukus to help with their on-going troubles with ban…d transport and get them on the road again.
This month has seen unavoidable break-downs and accidents for these guys, with two vans being scrapped, another facing serious repair work stranded in Germany, tours being completely reshaped due to these complications, gear stuck or lost and unseen expenses coming from every imaginable source, money which the guys just don’t have. So we need you his to get involved and raise even part of the cash the guys need to keep going”
